Beta Testing

Before a new product is launched, products are sent to numerous testers around the world to use the prototypes and provide feedback.

✅ How it works

  • Users subscribed to the free NackHabitat newsletter receive a link to the beta application.

  • Applications are open for a few weeks, and then reviewed.

  • 8-10 testers are selected to join the closed beta testing group, with majority chosen based on application, and a select few randomly chosen.

  • Accepted members are contacted via email with next steps.

  • Beta testing normally lasts 3-5 weeks depending on product complexity.

  • Testers submit their final feedback and photos via online form

  • Testers receive NH store coupon upon completion.

⚠️ Requirements

  • Beta application submitted for review.

  • Product testing is done within a set timeframe.

Are beta kits similar to the final product?

Historically, yes. When I open up the first round of beta testing, I consider the product or full kit "completed". At that time, I don't have any major revisions or changes, so the kits are pretty damn close to what will be sold at launch. Sometimes things are discovered through round 1 of beta testing which cause a change to happen before the 2nd round starts.

While I never try to give someone an unfinished looking product, sometimes using a mismatched part or one printed with the wrong filament is used so it doesn't go to waste. Or I might use a part that has cosmetic defects, but functions perfectly fine.

Restrictions

You are not permitted to create any content, share any provided files, publish any media, or share any details regarding the project while in the closed beta. These projects are a constant work in progress, and design theft runs rampant in this field. Please do not share anything about this project during the beta testing phase. If you are a 3D printer yourself, and you have been provided design, slicer, or STL files for you print on your own, these are not permitted to be shared ever. Your NDA for this expired when the product has launched and is available to the public to sale.

STL files will not be shared so you can print the kit yourself. These files are private and protected, and will not be uploaded to the public. Only full kits are sold.

This IS a beta…

⚠️ Please be advised that beta kits may contain parts with mismatched or incorrect colors, mismatched or incorrect filaments, and/or cosmetic defects. This is why these kits are not sold full price. You are purchasing a pre-release product and changes may be made before the product is release. Since all kits are made to order, there are no refunds. If you receive a part and it does not work properly, I will of course reprint and send to you.
